Sigbjorn, as far as I am concerned, is not very good.

This can be extremely powerful when paired with Arc Lightning Item - Gullinfyri -Gives a 10% chance of critical hits (2x damage) when attacking strength.Stats - 7/9/12/2/1 - You want max Willpower for Eyvind as both his abilites depend on using it a lot.Mend is great for keeping your tanks upright. Arc Lightning when used right can be devastating, but you have to be very careful not to get your allies caught in the crossfire. Great for Stoneguards and lowering Scourge armour so Gunnulf can take them down quickly.Įyvind isn't really the greatest character but his Arc Lightning and Mend abilities do prove very useful.

Item - Farthingjord - Gives Rook 6 break minimum and a max of 9 break with full exertion use.His item can be given to a tank-breaker but I find it better to have on a long-range character instead. While low strength/armour makes him squishy, his Light Foot ability makes it easy to get him behind Iver/Egil and out of danger.

Item - Godscale - Gives Egil an armour stat of 17 making him an excellent tankīecomes one of the best breakers in the game thanks to his item.Only enemies that may scratch him are high level Scourge and Bellower. With his high armour stat (added to with his item) and Stone Wall you can just sit Egil in the middle of a pack of enemies and he will take no damage whatsoever. Item - Five Ring Necklace - Gives him 7 break potential with exertion.Even after he loses his Return the Favour ability thanks to having no shield later on, he still has excellent armour and breakage potential. Have Gunnulf's turn go after your breakers then send him in to finish them off. Items - Dundr's Hand - This gives Gunnulf an amazing 21 strength and makes it possible to destroy many units in one blow. From there, ranking him up to 5 should be easy as you don't need to bother with supplies for Hakon's caravan. You should be able to make Gunnulf either rank 2 or 3 just after that first fight. In the first battle of the game (after the tutorial), use the other characters to lower the enemies armour then come in with Gunnulf and either attack them if they are alone or use Tempest for quick kills. You probably want Rain of Arrows instead to prevent enemy movement.Gunnulf is a massive powerhouse. Which considering her 7 STR cap, is probably not what you want. I don't know exactly what everybody gets as a second ability, but I know characters like Yrsa gets Bird of Prey if you don't level her. The reason why you want to get the party members you intend to use to Level 6 is because their 2nd abilities will automatically be chosen for you if you didn't give them one back in Saga 2. Just some advice for the future: Everybody in Saga 2 will be autoleveled to Level 8 at the start of Banner Saga 3. Once all of them reached Level 6 I started to just invest my renown into Rook, Iver, Hogun, Gunnulf and Ludin. Once they are at Level 6 they have their 2nd abilities, from there I focus on promoting the units I really want to dump renown into to make them stronger.Įxample, I promoted the following characters to Level 6 in the Skogr Team: Rook, Iver, Yrsa, Nid, Hogun (Egil died), Hakon, Gunnulf, Ludin and Mogr. I tend to make sure I keep every party member I intend to constantly use at Level 6.
